LG Showcases Wireless Ultra HD Technology

LG Electronics has announced their wireless Ultra HD streaming technology at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2013 in Barcelona. The Wireless Ultra HD technology will allow games and other content to be streamed on their LG Ultra HDTV’s in real time.

“Thanks to our innovative Wireless Ultra HD Transmission technology, users can now enjoy their favorite mobile content on today’s most advanced Ultra HD TVs,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “With the development of this cutting-edge technology, LG again confirms its industry leadership in the area of display and mobile convergence for a truly enjoyable viewing experience.”

The complete details of the technology are vague, but LG says that ubiquitous Wifi connections are used during transmission. Multimedia content is matched to the TV resolution for sharp visuals. LG also mentioned that their wireless Ultra HD solution uses half the power of other streaming technologies.
