As you may remember, HEVC recently received first stage approval by the ITU. The new High Efficiency Video Coding standard will ease the burden on global networks, since an estimated 50% of all bandwidth comes from video data. Companies are working to bring HEVC codecs to the mainstream for Ultra HD content delivery, and it will only be a matter of time before we start seeing our future in Ultra High Definition.
