Toshiba has formally announced their L9300 Series Ultra HDTV at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show. The apparent theme of this year’s Vegas Juggernauts? Go big or go home! The L9300 Series Ultra HD 4K LED TVs will offer four times the resolution of current 1080p displays that will portray a brighter, crisper, and life like image never seen before. Toshiba will showcase its 4K displays in three available sizes: 58-, 65-, and 84-inch.

What will set Toshiba apart from the rest? Toshiba’s Scott Ramirez, VP of product marketing and development, thinks that image quality will be their biggest advantage.

“What Toshiba brings is experience in image processing,” Ramirez said. “We’re taking a 1080p image, restoring it up to an Ultra HD level as well as upscaling it all the same time using our proprietary CEVO 4K Quad+Dual Core Processor — a quad core processor with two extra cores.” CEVO 4K paired with Toshiba’s ClearScan 240 Hz refresh rate will offer seamless transitions while watching Ultra HD content.

The 4K TV’s will also include 2D-to-3D conversion, CQ Engine with Edge Enhancer, Ultra Clear Dynamic Noise Reducation, and a Dynamic Picture Mode. Each Ultra HDTV includes an ultra-slim bezel with gun-metal trim.

While there is no word on pricing just yet, Toshiba states that the new Ultra HD TV’s will be available this summer. We’ll have full coverage once the CES opens its showroom doors tomorrow!
